They are seeking a senior Laboratory Information System (LIS) Administrator with expertise in Orchard Copia and Sequoia to manage the lifecycle of enterprise laboratory informatics, ensuring efficient workflows and accurate results delivery. Responsibilities • Own day‑to‑day administration of Orchard Copia and Sequoia across test, validation, and production environments • Configure and maintain Copia order‑entry workflows, client portals, remote label printing, collection lists, and results delivery • Design Sequoia workflows and rules; configure modules (clinical, microbiology, anatomic pathology, toxicology) to support high‑volume testing • Build, test, and support HL7 interfaces with EHR/HIS, analyzers, reference labs, HIEs; manage message routing, mappings, and error queues • Partner with DBAs to manage Microsoft SQL Server tasks (backups, indexes, jobs) and to support ad‑hoc queries for operations and audits • Harden security: manage roles/privileges, audit logs, encryption/secrets, and periodic access reviews; ensure HIPAA alignment • Establish SOPs and validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ); execute change control for upgrades, patches, and hotfixes • Create and maintain monitoring & alerting for interfaces, analyzers, queues, and job health; respond to incidents and drive root‑cause analysis • Collaborate with lab managers and clinicians to optimize turnaround time (TAT), utilization, and quality metrics; deliver custom reports • Train end users and super users; provide at‑the‑elbow go‑live support and periodic refresher training • Coordinate vendor tickets and escalations; oversee issue triage to closure with clear communication and timelines • Support audits and inspections; ensure data retention, archival, and retrieval policies are enforced Skills • Strong administration of Orchard Copia: site/client configuration, order routing, results consolidation, label/collection list setup, and browser/mobile access management • Proven Sequoia (enterprise LIS) administration: workflow design, module configuration (clinical/micro/AP/toxicology), and rules management • HL7 v2.x interfacing (ADT/ORM/ORU, acknowledgements, Z-segments), analyzer/EHR interface monitoring & triage • Microsoft SQL Server: schema understanding, writing queries for troubleshooting and reporting, backups & maintenance plans • Security & compliance: role-based access, audit trails, PHI protection, change control & documented validation • End-user training, SOPs, and super-user enablement; excellent communication with lab leadership and clinicians • Incident/problem management in production, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions • Experience delivering upgrades/patches, data migrations, and cutovers with minimal downtime • Experience with Orchard Enterprise Lab (successor enterprise platform) and/or Orchard Harvest • API/web services experience; interface engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth/NextGen Connect) • Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) and dashboarding/reporting (SSRS/Power BI) • Terminologies: LOINC, SNOMED CT, CPT/HCPCS; lab regulations (CLIA/CAP) • Cloud hosting (Azure/AWS), networking basics, and SSO/IdP (SAML/OIDC) Company Overview • Sonata is a global software services company.
