Avantor is looking for a dedicated and high-energy Life Science Specialist to maintain and advance their local Life Science sales in workflows related to Genomics, Proteomics, and Cell Biology. The role involves consultative selling of Avantor's Life Science products and services to a diverse client base, requiring regional travel and a strong understanding of the life science research marketplace. Responsibilities • Sell consultatively our entire Avantor Life Science product portfolio, with emphasis on Life Science workflows—genomics, Proteomics, Cell Biology, and bioMarke suppliers. • Identify and assist in converting competitive Life Science products to items available from Avantor and our distributors. • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering Life Science workflow solutions to customers by illustrating Avantor's value proposition. • Train and motivate the Avantor's general Sales Reps to sell the target Life Science workflow product areas: Genomics, Proteomics, and Cell Biology. • Assume overall territory ownership of Life Science Sales, along with Avantor general Sales Reps and management team, by attending and hosting regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes, on-site technical seminars, equipment demonstrations, and Life Science-focused vendor shows. • Ensure that the Avantor Life Science program is the best in class. • Demonstrate Avantor’s mission and uphold the Avantor Code of Conduct. • Performs other duties as assigned. Skills • 0-3 years of sales experience, with preference in B2B sales, or a complex sales environment • 2-3 years of life science research/lab experience required • Must have a firm understanding of and experience within the life science research marketplace: Genomics, Proteomics, Cellular Science and Microbiology workflow knowledge • Excellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, manufacturing reps, management, team members, and internal divisions-Portfolio, Marketing, and others • Ability to carry on highly technical conversations related to Life Science workflows—genomics, Proteomics, and Cell Biology—with KOLs and decision-makers • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint, with a preference for experience in CRM and/or Qlikview • Holder of a valid Driver's License in good standing • Willingness to travel to customer locations at least three days a week with some overnight travel Education Requirements • BS degree in a life science area • Advanced Scientific Degree (MS or PhD) highly recommended Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • Wellness programs • Health savings and flexible spending accounts • A 401(k) plan with company match • An employee stock purchase program • 11 paid holidays • Accrue 18 PTO days annually • Eligible for volunteer time off • 6 weeks of 100% paid parental leave Company Overview • Avantor is a provider of mission-critical products and services to customers in the life sciences and applied materials industries.
