[Remote] Junior Underwriter

United Auto Credit Corporation, a subsidiary of Vroom, is seeking a Junior Underwriter to play a key role in turning approvals into contracts. The role involves calling dealerships on applications, assessing risk, and building strong relationships to drive business growth in the auto finance industry. Responsibilities Close the loop – Call our dealership partners to rehash approvals with the goal of capturing the contract while providing solutions and assessing the overall risk of the application Match the right fit – Ensure sales contracts meet program and guideline specifications or counteroffer to a different program to evaluate risk and price the application accordingly Be a trusted partner – Work hand-in-hand with dealerships, Area Managers, and our Sales/Marketing team to strengthen relationships and drive success Add value to every deal – Review deals with dealers and help structure or restructure them for the best possible outcome Bring solutions to the table – Gather key information to recommend alternative products or programs when appropriate Educate and empower – Clearly explain the “why” behind credit decisions, helping dealers understand our approach and build confidence in our partnership Aim high – Consistently hit or exceed monthly goals for production, quality, and customer satisfaction Collaborate for success – Work closely with internal teams like Funding and Sales to keep deals moving smoothly Stay adaptable – Jump in where needed to support the team and company goals Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Proven ability to build relationships with dealers, sales/marketing teams, and peers Skilled negotiator with a drive to win in a competitive market and ability to think outside the box Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Proficient in bolthires Office, bolthires G Suite, and Teams Auto finance or financial services experience preferred but not required Benefits Uncapped Bonuses Averaging $1,100 - $1,500 monthly Company Overview Vroom is an ecommerce platform designed to offer a better way to buy and sell used vehicles.It was founded in 2013, and is headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, with a workforce of 501-1000 employees.
