[Remote] Junior Software Quality Engineer

This entry-level role involves collaborating with development teams to identify defects and contribute to high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing
ā¢ Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira or bug-tracking systems
ā¢ Perform manual and automated testing across web, mobile, or API environments to validate features and user experience
ā¢ Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to review requirements, reproduce issues, and verify fixes
ā¢ Conduct exploratory testing, smoke tests, and usability evaluations to ensure software meets quality standards
ā¢ Document test results, generate reports, and contribute to process improvements in agile environments
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
ā¢ Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and tools like Selenium, JUnit, or Postman
ā¢ 0-2 years of experience in QA/testing, including internships; familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, Java)
ā¢ Proficiency in bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and testing frameworks
ā¢ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
ā¢ Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, TestNG) or CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
ā¢ Understanding of agile/Scrum processes and basic performance/security testing
