[Remote] Junior AI Software Engineer

They are seeking an early-career software engineer with a genuine interest in AI-driven development to embed with business units and build AI-powered systems that enhance product features and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate AI opportunities and technical feasibility across diverse product stacks and business unitsEmbed with business teams to map workflows, identify pain points, and prototype AI-powered solutionsBuild and iterate on features using LLMs, embeddings, APIs, RAG architectures, and agentic workflowsOwn delivery from prototype through production deployment and user adoptionAssist with prompt engineering, retrieval pipeline design, and iterative refinement of AI systemsIntegrate AI capabilities with CRMs, ERPs, and legacy systems via APIs, webhooks, or custom connectorsBuild internal tooling to accelerate AI-assisted development and adoption across portfolio companiesSupport evaluations to track quality, performance, latency, and cost of AI systemsSkills0–5 years of software engineering or development experience (internships and meaningful personal projects count)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldStrong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Java, .NET, or similar languagesFamiliarity with APIs, databases, web technologies, and SDLC fundamentalsFull-stack mindset with eagerness to work across frontend, backend, and integrationsComfortable using or learning AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude)Strong communication skills and comfort working with both technical teams and business stakeholdersHigh ownership, bias to action, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Personal or professional projects demonstrating AI usage or full-stack developmentPrior work in enterprise SaaS, analytics, or customer-facing technical rolesCompany OverviewWineFetch is an e-commerce and marketing platform for the retail wine and spirits industry It was founded in 2004, and is headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
