The IT - Application System Admin I - IV is responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining third-party application software, ensuring software stability and performance, and managing service requests while providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced associates.ResponsibilitiesTest and maintain third-party application software, upgrades, and patches on serversManage generic and service accounts, including password changes and decommissioningValidate and monitor software and server accessCreate and deploy build packages for development, testing, and production environmentsEvaluate and recommend software upgrades and optimize configurationsCoordinate software/hardware installations and upgrades with IT infrastructure teamsProvide debugging support to developers and maintain application user permissionsAnalyze software/configuration changes and their impact on other systemsCollaborate with development and source integrity teams for initial application deploymentsConfigure and modify scheduling tools for software cycles and processesMonitor job performance, storage, and log files within supported environmentsGenerate and analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvementsProvide on-call incident and outage supportValidate firewall, load balancer, and server configuration changesCreate and execute database scripts and queries; maintain databasesPlan and coordinate backup and disaster recovery activitiesPerform troubleshooting and follow environment restart/recovery procedures and test plansHandle application service start and completion and maintain interfacesIdentify integration points and reusable components between systemsResearch and recommend new technologies impacting system environmentsProvide technical assistance and automate system administration tasks via scriptingReview system architecture for limitations and compliance; recommend improvementsUse diagnostic tools and collaborate with vendors to resolve application issuesTrain and mentor less experienced associatesRecommend service area process improvementsApply change, incident, release, and problem management processesFollow service area and IT procedures, standards, and audit compliance requirementsServe as technical lead for third-party application upgradesManage service requests, resource assignments, communication plans, and support schedulesPerform change manager responsibilitiesSkillsExperience with PeopleSoft and PeopleTools installationProven ability to manage third-party software environments and application deploymentsStrong troubleshooting and debugging skillsKnowledge of system performance monitoring and tuningExperience with database maintenance and scriptingFamiliarity with firewall, load balancer, and server configurationAbility to manage service requests and lead technical projectsExperience mentoring or training team membersUnderstanding of IT service management processes and compliance standardsBenefitsEligible associates may receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performanceCompany OverviewRemoteHunter is your dedicated AI job search assistant, turning the job hunt from a slow, individual effort into a quicker, smarter, and guided experience by streamlining each step of the process and speeding up your path to the right career opportunities.
