Review medical record documentation to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures
Calculate MS-DRG and APR-DRG for inpatient encounters accurately
Ensure proper coding, billing, and compliance with regulatory guidelines
Maintain organizational policies regarding medical coding
Contribute to continuous quality improvement in the coding process
Qualifications:
Graduate from a Medical Coding program
One to two years of coding experience in an inpatient setting
Credentialing as CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a healthcare coding role
Familiarity with MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodologies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
