We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our diverse tech group, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and delivering software that makes us an essential part of our customers' digital lives.

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $190,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

As a Remote Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Contributing to the analysis of business, application, and technical infrastructure requirements
Designing, building, enhancing, and integrating the infrastructure required to support various platforms and our business portfolio
Aiding projects that deliver achievable end-to-end infrastructure solutions
Participating in test planning and execution
Designing and implementing American Express-specific data network solutions
Functioning as a technical subject matter expert for American Express data networks, including global WAN, SD-WAN, MAN, LAN, and many additional technologies and systems
Studying new and emerging products and solutions
Ensuring new systems and technologies align with business and IT strategy
Assisting with network automation projects
Providing level 3 troubleshooting and support for critical network issues or outages
Training, mentoring, and educating less experienced colleagues as required
Providing architectural governance; evaluating projects to ensure alignment to architectural standards and technical approach
Partnering with third-party providers and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and adherence to requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in corporate networking technology
3+ years of experience building and supporting enterprise-scale data networks
Expert-level understanding of routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP
Expert-level knowledge of routing, switching, and network technology, including Spanning Tree, 802.1Q, Port-Channels, 802.1x, QoS, VLANs, SVIs, and Multicast
Strong understanding of IP, including TCP, UDP, and ICMP
Experience with Cisco switching and routing systems
Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage workload on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate to all levels of peers, clients, and leadership
