[Remote] HR Compliance Director

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Principal Financial Group is seeking a strategic, compliance-minded leader to join their team as a Director - HR Compliance. This role will ensure HR operations align with applicable laws and regulations while partnering with business units to strengthen the compliance framework. Responsibilities • Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to implement, and oversee HR compliance policies and procedures • Lead compliance risk assessments and conduct testing to identify and address program gaps • Build and refine the HR Compliance Program with a strategic, cross-functional lens • Provide expert legal and technical advice on employment laws, contract provisions, and HR regulations • Serve as a compliance advisor on major business initiatives and projects • Mentor team members and deliver training that reinforces a culture of compliance • Explore automation opportunities to enhance compliance oversight and efficiency • Assist in SBCU compliance efforts Skills • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent • 8+ years of relevant experience in compliance, employment law, or risk management (JD or MBA may substitute for some experience). • Deep knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and the regulatory landscape. • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. • Experience in compliance reporting and driving cross-functional collaboration. • Travel occasionally as needed for business needs. • Proven experience building or significantly enhancing a compliance program is highly preferred. • Project management capabilities are a plus.
