[Remote] Head of Quality Assurance
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Worth AI is seeking a Head of Quality Assurance to build, lead, and elevate their QA function across the organization. This strategic and hands-on role involves defining quality standards, building scalable testing processes, and leading a team of QA engineers while remaining deeply technical.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Lead and manage the QA function, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management of QA engineers
ā¢ Define and evolve the company-wide quality strategy across manual and automated testing
ā¢ Design and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks
ā¢ Write and review automation code across API, integration, and UI layers
ā¢ Establish clear standards for test coverage, regression testing, and release validation
ā¢ Own and organize all test case management, reporting, and traceability within Qase
ā¢ Ensure QA artifacts in Qase accurately reflect current system behavior and release state
ā¢ Build reliable CI-integrated automation pipelines that provide fast feedback to engineering
ā¢ Partner closely with Engineering and Product to define acceptance criteria and quality gates
ā¢ Implement risk-based testing strategies to prioritize coverage effectively
ā¢ Drive reduction in regression defects and production escapes
ā¢ Introduce metrics and dashboards that provide visibility into quality trends
ā¢ Improve incident postmortem processes to ensure quality learnings are captured and implemented
ā¢ Advocate for quality as a shared responsibility across engineering teams
ā¢ Step into complex debugging scenarios when necessary to unblock releases
Skills
ā¢ 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Engineering
ā¢ 3+ years of experience leading QA teams
ā¢ Prior experience as an SDET or highly technical QA engineer
ā¢ Strong hands-on experience writing automated tests in modern frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, etc.)
ā¢ Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up
ā¢ Deep understanding of test pyramid strategy (unit, integration, end-to-end)
ā¢ Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
ā¢ Proven experience implementing and organizing structured test case management in Qase
ā¢ Strong understanding of API testing, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures
ā¢ Experience working closely with engineering teams in fast-paced environments
ā¢ Ability to design risk-based test strategies that balance coverage with speed
ā¢ Strong leadership, coaching, and hiring capabilities
ā¢ High emotional intelligence and ability to create accountability without friction
ā¢ Experience implementing contract testing or consumer-driven contract frameworks
ā¢ Experience testing event-driven architectures using Kafka
ā¢ Experience building performance or load testing frameworks
ā¢ Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and environment provisioning
ā¢ Experience scaling QA functions in high-growth environments
ā¢ Background in both manual exploratory testing and deep automation strategy
