[Remote] Head of Global Employment Law

The Deputy General Counsel for Global Employment will serve as the senior leader for employment law worldwide, providing strategic counsel on all employment, HR, and workforce matters globally while leading a distributed team of employment attorneys.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Seasoned lawyer in managing and handling all legal HR, employment, and recruiting matters for the company and its global affiliated entities
ā¢ Expert in providing legal advice for our HR, finance and recruiting departments for all global employment matters affecting the company
ā¢ Key legal advisor on executive and incentive compensation, complex equity, bonus, and long-term incentive structures across jurisdictions, along with employee retention, immigration matters, and payroll
ā¢ Lead and develop a globally distributed team of employment attorneys
ā¢ Build and scale a global employment legal infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing organization
ā¢ Strategically select, retain, and oversee outside employment counsel, leveraging strong professional networks to ensure the right expertise is engaged for complex or specialized matters
ā¢ To the extent needed, support HR by conducting internal investigations and interviewing employees
ā¢ Collaborating with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
ā¢ Manage legal requests across the business and provide clear guidance on legal risk aligned with business strategy
Skills
ā¢ Active membership with a state bar or eligibility to practice as a registered in-house counsel
ā¢ Seasoned lawyer in US employment law, with experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and partnering with a global legal team
ā¢ Expert in drafting, reviewing and negotiating offer letters, employment agreements and severance agreements
ā¢ 10+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team working on employment matters
ā¢ Expert in advising on the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, bonuses, equity, and other long-term incentive arrangements or deferred compensation programs
ā¢ Proven ability to build trust and provide practical, business-oriented advice to cross-functional partners; and be a proactive problem-solver and trusted partner to HR
ā¢ Ability to partner with Total Rewards and Finance on compensation governance, pay transparency, and regulatory compliance
ā¢ Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multi-cultural environment
ā¢ Ability to work in a high-functioning legal team and feel comfortable in a collaborative working environment
ā¢ Self-starter, quick learner who is highly driven, proactive, responsive and precise
