[Remote] Head of Classics & Essentials Development US West (Remote Opportunity)

Hyatt is a leading hospitality company seeking an enthusiastic Head of Classics & Essentials Development to join their Americas Development Team. This role involves strategic leadership of a development team and direct deal execution, focusing on achieving room signings and pipeline goals within the US West region.

Responsibilities
• Deliver the development strategy for the Americas West sub-region, aligning to broader Americas regional priorities and brand goals; uses data and strategic insights to prioritize potential markets and opportunities
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of regional developers to achieve sub-regional signings targets and funnel growth goals; demonstrate and promote Hyatt’s Ways of Working, bias towards action, and growth mindset
• Provide support for team members in securing key development opportunities; negotiate and close management and franchise agreements for Classics & Essentials brands
• Support efficient use of capital and deal structures that optimize returns for both Hyatt and owners; apply and share knowledge of capital structures, owner incentive programs, and financing options to create competitive, value-accretive proposals
• Cultivate relationships with owners, franchisees, brokers, and consultants to generate new development and conversion leads; represent Hyatt at industry events and conferences
• Drive the health and quality of the sub-regional deal funnel by managing opportunity prioritization, ensuring strong lead flow, and accelerating deal cycle times
• Partner with Development Operations, Brand teams, Finance, and Legal to streamline deal processes and deliver an efficient, owner-friendly experience
• Effectively convey the positioning, value proposition, and unique identity for each of Hyatt’s Classics and Essentials brands to owners, colleagues, and team members
• Promote Hyatt’s unique value to owners and operators and champion Hyatt’s full-service and select-service lifestyle brands throughout the development community
• Leverage industry data, competitive analysis, and regional trends to inform development strategy and support strategic decision-making
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify process enhancements that accelerate growth and improve developer effectiveness

Skills
• Minimum 10-12 years of hotel development, real estate, or franchise sales experience
• Proven track record of sustained deal origination, negotiation, and closing across large territories
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading and developing sales or development teams
• Strong existing relationships within the hotel ownership, investment, and brokerage communities
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience developing midscale, upper-midscale, and upscale hotel brands is vastly preferred
