[Remote] Group Underwriter

They are seeking a Group Underwriter to prepare financial statements for group health, life, and disability income lines of business while ensuring underwriting targets are met for growth and profitability. Responsibilities Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups in accordance with financial agreements Ensure the wording on the financial agreements is sound Ensure underwriting targets are met for growth and profitability Development and ongoing maintenance of direct relationships with sales, clients and producers; and Continuous dealings with internal underwriting staff and other internal customers (ie: Finance, Case management, Group Admin), the agent/broker/consultant network and policyholders Skills Post-secondary education in business administration, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or computer science Minimum 1 year of experience in Group Underwriting (recommended) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word Enjoy working in a collaborative, team-based environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-directed with high accountability and responsibility Excellent reasoning, judgment, and decision-making abilities Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Strong negotiation skills Bilingualism (English and French) is considered as an asset Benefits Flexible work options Meaningful experiences Supportive leadership Company Overview Medavie Health Services is a health care delivery company that provides clinical training, emergency and non-emergency medical services.
