[Remote] General Counsel - Rapidly Growing Real Estate Finance Platform
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Rogan Group, Inc is a rapidly growing real estate finance platform seeking a General Counsel to lead their legal resources. The role involves supporting lending and transactional activities, managing legal risk, and ensuring compliance while scaling legal infrastructure for organizational growth.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Draft, review, and negotiate loan and transaction documentation related to real estate financing activities, including bridge loans, term loans, and investor-focused rental loan products
ā¢ Provide legal guidance to lending, underwriting, servicing, and capital markets teams
ā¢ Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, legal risk, and transactional best practices
ā¢ Assist in developing standardized documentation, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency
ā¢ Supervise and support paralegal staff and manage workflow across legal support functions
ā¢ Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized legal matters when necessary
ā¢ Support new product development and strategic business initiatives
ā¢ Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting real estate lending and investment financing
Skills
ā¢ Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
ā¢ 5+ years of legal experience with exposure to commercial lending, real estate finance, or structured finance transactions
ā¢ Experience drafting and negotiating loan documentation and related financing agreements, preferably involving products such as bridge or term lending structures
ā¢ Strong ability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice
ā¢ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
ā¢ Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
ā¢ Prior experience supervising or mentoring legal support staff is a plus
