Remote Estimator - Structural Steel

Job Title: Remote Estimator – Structural Steel Location: Remote (Virginia-based) with occasional travel throughout Virginia Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating structural steel projects valued over $2 million or involving more than 1,000 tons of steel. This role offers the flexibility to work from home with occasional travel to project sites and client meetings across Virginia. Key Responsibilities: • Review structural steel project plans, specifications, and scope to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates • Perform quantity take-offs and analyze material, labor, and equipment costs for projects exceeding $2M or 1,000 tons of steel • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project details and gather pricing information • Prepare competitive bids and proposals in a timely manner • Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data • Participate in occasional site visits and client meetings throughout Virginia as needed Qualifications: • Minimum 3-5 years of experience estimating structural steel projects valued over $2 million or 1,000 tons • Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes, materials, and industry standards • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management skills • Willingness to travel occasionally within Virginia Contact [email protected] with your resume/project list for more information regarding this opportunity All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
