About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Associate Faculty member in English. As an online instructor, you will be responsible for teaching assigned courses, developing lesson plans, and evaluating student progress. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty members to promote a culture of continuous improvement and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional approaches.
Responsibilities:
Teach assigned courses to enrolled students and manage a diverse population of students in an online environment
Develop, prepare, and implement lesson plans; conduct pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluate, assess, and plan for students' educational and social needs
Complete all college and department reports on or before the due date/time
Respond to communications from students and colleagues within 48 hours
Collaborate with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program
Maintain student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department
Requirements:
Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Creative Writing, or Composition, or Master's Degree and 18 graduate hours in English or Composition from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems
Knowledge of research-based adult learning principles and trends, developments, and new technologies affecting education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to a diverse population and maintain composure in difficult situations
