[Remote] Engineering Manager, Distributed Systems

The Engineering Manager will scale the team's impact through hiring and culture while ensuring the reliability and performance of data APIs and pipelines. Responsibilities • Hiring and retaining diverse and talented engineers • Mentoring engineers & growing future technical leaders • Working cross-functionally to translate business goals into the team’s roadmap • Nurturing engineering excellence via culture and process • Providing meaningful input to technical designs based on an in depth understanding of our systems & services • Ensuring data api and pipeline uptime and performance SLO/SLAs are met • Working with customers to improve performance Skills • Has prior experience building, maintaining & scaling reliable, high-volume distributed systems • Can reason about ambiguous problems from first principles and propose creative solutions • Has strong CS fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems) • Contributes to attracting and retaining engineers through technical leadership, collaboration, and/or enablement • Has a track record of mentoring and growing engineers who work with you.
