Remote Electrical Estimator (Contract / Per-Project Work – California Experience Required)
About the Role Pacific Tech Communications (PTC) is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to work remotely on a per-project, per-estimate basis. This is a contract/1099 position — not full-time. You will receive drawings/scopes as needed, price the project, and be paid per estimate depending on project size and complexity. This role is perfect for someone who wants flexible remote work and has strong estimating experience specifically within California commercial electrical construction. How the Work Will Be Structured • We send you plans, drawings, specs, RFQs, or scope outlines • You prepare detailed takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates • You submit the estimate and we pay the agreed price for that project • Workload varies (no minimum required) • Payment is per-estimate — price discussed before each assignment What You Will Be Estimating • California commercial tenant improvements (TI) • Electrical service upgrades, panels, feeders • Lighting, power, gear, switching, branch circuits • Small–medium commercial or light industrial electrical projects • Optional telecom-related electrical scopes Requirements (Must-Have) • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience in California • Strong knowledge of: • California Electrical Code (CEC) • Title 24 requirements (lighting controls, energy compliance) • California permitting and inspection requirements • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, risers, and specifications • Access to estimating/takeoff software (Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.) • Ability to produce accurate estimates with fast turnaround • Independent, reliable, strong communication skills • Must work as a 1099 contractor Preferred Qualifications • Experience with California commercial TI specifically • Experience estimating service work and panel upgrades • Familiarity with telecom + electrical crossover scopes • Ability to turn around estimates in 24–48 hours when needed Compensation • Paid per estimate (pricing varies by complexity) • Typical pay range is discussed before each project • Flexible workload — take as many or as few projects as you want Job Type: Contract Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
