[Remote] Editorial/Social Producer, Prospects & Minor Leagues (Seasonal)

Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking an editorial/social producer for MLB Pipeline, their vertical dedicated to coverage of prospects and Minor League Baseball. The role involves writing, editing, and producing content for various platforms and collaborating with other producers to ensure the delivery of engaging and informative content.ResponsibilitiesEdit and post content for use on com, MiLB.com, team and partner websitesUse social media to promote contentWrite prospect- and Minor League-focused articles for MLB.com and MiLB.comRequest video highlights and provide metadata for the clipsUpdate the sites quickly and accuratelyWrite interesting headlines, captions, blurbsManage and update MLB Pipeline’s comprehensive ranking of the top prospects in each MLB organizationCollaborate with multimedia department to ensure appropriate and relevant video is being used with each storySelect and crop photos to pair with stories, prospect lists and other packagesMake judgments on story significance and arrange content into lead packages on the sitesCommunicate with the rest of the content team to ensure that all content is accurately placed on the various sitesSkillsAbility to write and produce compelling, concise content on deadlineThorough knowledge of baseball -- specifically about prospects and the Minor LeaguesPosition may require work at night and on weekendsExperience with content management systems and web publishingStrong copy-editing skillsKnowledge of social media and SEOBasic HTML and Photoshop skillsAbility to work well under deadline and in fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilitiesStrong communication, presentation and organization skillsMust be able and willing to work as part of a team, and receptive to feedbackFacility with written Spanish is not required but beneficialCompany OverviewMajor League Baseball (MLB) is the most historic professional sports league in the United States and consists of 30 member clubs in the U.S. It was founded in 2000, and is headquartered in New York, New York, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
