As an ECEAP Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating a nurturing and stimulating educational atmosphere for infants and toddlers. This position involves close collaboration with an assistant teacher and site team, focusing on engaging parents as crucial partners in their children’s educational development. Your efforts will significantly contribute to the holistic growth of young learners across various developmental areas.

Key Responsibilities
• Foster an environment of respect, support, and creativity among team members.
• Offer leadership and mentorship to assistant teachers, promoting their professional development.
• Collaborate with site staff to support active recruitment initiatives aimed at achieving full enrollment.
• Design and implement a daily schedule of routines and activities tailored to the developmental needs of young children.
• Develop lesson plans that adhere to ECEAP performance standards, ensuring a comprehensive, child-centered curriculum inclusive of all children.
• Engage positively with children to nurture their individual learning experiences and address their emotional needs.
• Maintain respectful communication with families, actively involving them in their children's educational journeys.
• Plan and facilitate family events and meetings with the site team, utilizing interpreters when necessary.
• Conduct annual educational planning meetings with each child’s family and complete ongoing written observations.
• Administer standardized screening tools to assess child development and refer for further evaluation as required.
• Assist in the planning and serving of snacks and meals, fostering a supportive environment during mealtime.
• Teach essential health habits, supervise safety protocols, and ensure both indoor and outdoor environments are secure.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals and nurse consultants as needed.
• Supervise preschool teaching assistants and assist in recruiting family and community volunteers.
• Engage in collaborative planning for children and families, including participating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Stay informed about program updates and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

Required Skills
• Demonstrated ability to be a constructive member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-aged children.
• Strong communication abilities and capacity to relate positively to students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Adaptability to various instructional strategies and situations.
• Proficient in clerical tasks such as recordkeeping and filing.
• Willingness to attend occasional evening meetings.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Qualifications
• Completion of 12 college quarter credits or a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with early childhood development training.
• First Aid and CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Food and Beverage Handler's Permit to be secured within 30 days of hiring.
• Completion of a one-step Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) test, unless recent proof of a negative test is provided.

Compensation And Benefits

Hourly compensation for this role ranges from (21.44 to )27.18 based on experience. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with a 401k plan, vacation leave, and access to EAP and mental health services.
