Remote Dentist

As a member of the Mosaic Health Care Team, the Remote Dentist provides dental diagnosis, treatment planning, and referrals as required, to the Mosaic Health patient population, meeting their diverse dental health needs utilize technology to benefit the patients as well as the dental teams at all dental sites.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
• Works as a member of a disciplinary treatment team and practices team-based care that is patient centered and holistic.
• Acts as a patient advocate.
• Protects privacy and ensures confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Obtains and documents medical history from the patient and/or significant other related to patient conditions or problems.
• Documents all encounters and pertinent information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) according to organizational policies and procedures.
• Participates in Mosaic Health's quality improvement initiatives as outlined in the Mosaic Health quality program.
• Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Examines teeth, gums and related tissues, using x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed dental conditions.
• Advises and instructs patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.
• Treats gums and bone supporting the teeth in addition to the teeth.
• Refers patients to specialists as appropriate.
