They are seeking a Data Wrangler to play a critical role in acquiring, transforming, and integrating complex healthcare data, supporting data-driven decisions that improve patient care and operational efficiency. Responsibilities • Collect, extract, and ingest large and diverse datasets from multiple sources, including lab instrumentation and software output including results, control, and performance data, including identifying and developing processes for capturing discrete data elements for metrics • Design, build, and maintain APIs (e.g., RESTful, JSON) to facilitate secure and efficient data exchange with external partners and internal systems, using standards like HL7 FHIR to ingest and retrieve data • Develop, implement, and maintain data integration solutions for medical devices and laboratory instruments to capture data in real time or via batch processes, working with vendors to ensure seamless data transfer and troubleshoot issues • Identify and resolve data quality issues such as missing values, inconsistencies, errors, process, restructure, and transform raw data into a standardized, analysis-ready format • Build and maintain automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes) to streamline the flow of data from source systems to data warehouses or other analytics environments • Conduct rigorous data integrity checks and enforce data quality standards to ensure accuracy and reliability for downstream analytics and reporting • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and clinical subject matter experts to understand data needs and ensure datasets meet the requirements for various research and operational projects Skills • 2 or more years of experience in data wrangling, data analysis, or a similar data focused role required, with experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry preferred • Proficiency in programming languages like Python (with libraries such as Pandas) and SQL for data manipulation and querying • Experience with building and consuming APIs, including understanding of RESTful and JSON standards • Experience in integrating data from various sources, including direct connections to medical instruments • Familiarity with database management systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools and data warehousing concepts • Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry preferred • Experience with Business Intelligence and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as computer science, health informatics, statistics, or related discipline or equivalent work experience required • Master’s degree is preferred Benefits • Highly competitive benefits with a variety HMO and PPO options • Company 401k match • Employee Stock Purchase Program • Tuition reimbursement • Leadership development • 16 days of paid time off plus holidays • Wellness courses • Highly engaged employee resource groups Company Overview • NeoGenomics, Inc. is a premier cancer diagnostics company specializing in cancer genetics testing and oncology data solutions.
