Position: Data Solution Architect with TOGAF or C4 Models Expertise Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Need Locals Only Duration: 12+ months contract About Job: Focus: Cloud migration. Experience: Must have TOGAF or C4 Models expertise. The Data Solutions Architect is a hands-on engineer with wide range of data integration and data management skills. He/She will be working on the firm's data mesh initiative as part of Mesh Enablement team to ensure engagement success outcomes. The architect must take initiative to problem solving and promote an enablement culture of data-driven approach. Data Mesh is a construct for managing complex enterprise data and a prescription for delivering business values. Applying data mesh requires a paradigm shift from IT-centric activities to a data-driven culture that embraces these four principles A product thinking approach delivering useful data that are trusted and reusable in variety of use cases. A decentralization approach from centralized data management to domain data owners and SMEs. A self-service platform enables producers market its data, consumers greater ease of access and promoting a vibrant marketplace. A federated distributed governance model with overarching governance. In short, the data mesh is a foundational component anchors in a vision to drive our digital foundations, grow our client partnerships and reduce data risk by empowering our partners and ecosystem with the trusted data they need, when and how they need it, delivered through a secure and intuitive data marketplace. An ideal candidate must have internalized the vision of business driven IT enabled data strategy and fully committed to realizing faster business values and do what it takes. Your Tasks and Responsibilities: Collaborate with domain data teams from on-boarding to data product publishing activities. Lead domain data teams through process using NT data mesh construct and methodology. Utilize data mesh construct, best practices and bootstrap code to enable domain data team to build custom secure data workflows and pipelines to publish data products to the mesh. Engage with business partners, architects and technology engineers/scientists to design robust data enablement solutions. Work with SMEs and vendor engineers to analyze and suggest optimal data ingestion, curation and publishing solutions. Design custom automation for DataOps pipelines for domain data teams. Train and empower domain data teams to leverage mesh construct. Assessing and advocating data technologies and practices eliminating gaps between the current state and a well-targeted future state. Sharing engagement solutions and outcomes with colleagues to improve delivery on future projects. Seek success at the intersection of customers, projects and products. The Skills You Bring You have experience in working as enablement and liaison between technology and business teams. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can manage many parallel projects at the same time with different timelines, priorities, and stakeholders. Deep working experience of one or more data engineering technology such as Talend, Nifi, dBt, Databricks. Skilled in variety of languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, XQuery, Scala, etc. Ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancements. You are interested in scaling an organization with a focus on efficient execution. You can effectively prioritize your time and commitment to ensure customer success. You have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of alerting and monitoring tools and system management tools for environments and configuration management and cloud orchestration tools. Your Qualifications: At least 8 years of experience developing data and services in an enterprise and/or cloud environment. Hands on knowledge of DevOps, DataOps and/or MLOps using ADO. Knowledge of IaC and automation such as Terraform, Ansible. Proven expertise in data Ingestion and data management architecture. Deep working experience of one or more data engineering technology such as Talend, Nifi, dBt, or Databricks. Skilled in variety of languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, XQuery, Scala, etc. Experience in writing scripts for Linux shell and Windows PowerShell. Proven experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server. Experience with database resiliency, failover, traffic routing and database sharding on the cloud Ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging cloud data technologies and services.
