[Remote] Data Center Service Technician (PDU Systems)

Sterling Engineering is seeking a skilled Data Center Service Technician with hands-on experience supporting Power Distribution Unit (PDU) systems in data center environments. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of power distribution equipment that supports critical server infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PDU systems and associated low- to medium-voltage electrical equipmentRespond to critical service calls in an on-call capacity, ensuring rapid resolution of power-related issuesPerform preventive maintenance (PM) checks on PDU systems and supporting infrastructureMonitor and verify proper electrical load distribution to prevent overload conditionsCollaborate with data center personnel to ensure safe and compliant system operationDocument service activities, findings, and corrective actionsMaintain adherence to all safety standards and data center protocolsSkillsHands-on experience with PDU systems (Power Distribution Units)Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently in time-sensitive situationsValid driver's license and reliable personal vehiclePrior experience working in data center environments (strongly preferred)BenefitsOvertime paid at 1.5xPaid for full travel time (portal-to-portal)Tax advantages associated with the use of a personal vehicleCompany-issued credit card for travel expensesFlexible scheduling with PTO and blackout date allowancesCompany OverviewSterling Engineering is an engineering company providing technical recruitment and engineering project services.
