The Data Analyst role involves cleaning, validating, analyzing, and visualizing energy and performance datasets to produce reports and dashboards that aid operational and sustainability decisions.ResponsibilitiesClean, organize, and validate large energy and building performance datasets to ensure data accuracy and reliabilityBuild and maintain dashboards, dataflows, and recurring performance reports using Power BI (or similar visualization tools)Use Python, R, and/or SQL to extract, transform, and analyze time-series and tabular datasetsIdentify trends, anomalies, and performance insights across client portfolios and present findings to technical and non-technical audiencesDocument data sources, assumptions, processing steps, and methodologies clearly and consistentlyConduct quality checks and follow established data management standards to maintain high-quality outputsSupport multiple projects simultaneously and deliver assigned tasks on scheduleCollaborate with internal Energy & Sustainability teams and client stakeholders to meet analytics objectivesLearn and apply the confidential client’s internal analytics tools, APIs, and sustainability management softwareRecommend opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reporting efficiencySkillsBachelor's degree in engineering, analytics, data science, or a related field (minimum)0–2 years of experience in data analysis; experience in energy, building performance, or sustainability is a plusProficiency with one or more data analysis tools/languages: Python, R, or SQLExperience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or TableauStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and interest in sustainability and energy efficiencyGood verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiencesEagerness to learn new tools, systems, and industry conceptsAcademic projects, internships, or prior work applying data analysis to real-world or simulated datasetsHands-on experience cleaning, transforming, and validating datasets (time-series experience preferred)Experience creating dashboards or analytical reports to communicate findings and recommendationsFamiliarity with building management systems (BMS), Modbus protocols, or mechanical/electrical building engineering conceptsExperience using Microsoft Excel for analysis and PowerPoint/Word for presenting results and reportsUnderstanding of predictive analytics models; exposure to operationalizing ML models is a plusStrong team player with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional settingsAbility to synthesize analytical findings into concise written summaries or presentationsBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionHSA401(k) matchingPaid time off and holidaysMental health resourcesGym discountsOther group discounts and voluntary benefit programsCompany OverviewEdkey is an AI-powered education technology company building the intelligence layer between learning and career outcomes.
