Position Overview: Remote Customer Service Representative

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Remote Customer Service Representatives. This is a work-from-home opportunity that allows you to provide exceptional support to our health plan members from the comfort of your own space. You'll serve as the first point of contact for members seeking assistance, acting as a single point of contact to resolve their concerns and answer their questions.

In this role, you'll build trusting, caring relationships with members by understanding their unique needs and exceeding their expectations. You'll provide personalized communication based on individual preferences and needs, creating meaningful connections that make our members feel truly cared for.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Support Representative at arenaflex, your daily responsibilities will include:


Member Support: Respond to questions and resolve issues as a single resource based on calls from plan sponsors, members, and healthcare providers. Provide customized communication based on client preference and individualized needs.
Relationship Building: Fully understand the role's requirements by building a trusting and caring relationship with each member. Understand and engage the member without limit, creating a deep connection.
Proactive Assistance: Anticipate member needs by providing related information to answer unasked questions, such as additional plan details, benefit plan details, member self-service tools, and more.
Financial Decision-Making: Use customer support frameworks to make financial decisions to resolve member issues effectively and efficiently.
Education and Guidance: Educate and assist clients on various elements of benefit plan information and available services designed to enhance the overall customer service experience, including assistance with member self-service tools, counseling opportunities, cost of care tools, and wellness programs.
Issue Resolution: Take immediate action when faced with an issue or made aware of a situation. Take ownership of member contact to resolve their issues and connect them with additional services as appropriate.
Healthcare Guidance: Provide education to members to help them manage their health. Guide members to the appropriate health resource and offer options where appropriate.
Claims and Benefits: Process claims, referrals, new case transfers, and escalate issues through the appropriate channels for complaints and appeals. Provide case status information, benefit coverage interpretations, and explain plan eligibility.
Outreach and Follow-up: Initiate outreach and welcome calls to ensure member expectations are met or exceeded. Identify trends and emerging customer service issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with different departments to deliver member-specific presentations. Coordinate efforts both within and across departments to effectively resolve service issues.
Quality Assurance: Deliver internal quality reviews, track all contacts, events, and outcomes with members using appropriate systems and processes.
Mentorship: Mentor, train, and assist in the development of call center staff as required. Participate in or lead special projects addressing service issues.


Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:


A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Customer service experience in a transaction-based environment, such as a call center or retail store
Strong ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion in all interactions
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions independently
Basic computer proficiency and comfort with learning new software systems
A quiet, professional home office environment suitable for remote work
High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred)


Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in healthcare customer service or insurance support
