Responsibilities • Lead the tone and storytelling expression of the Edelman Financial Engines brand across all touchpoints • Partner with art directors to create integrated campaigns that drive brand relevance and performance • Develop ideas that simplify complex financial topics into clear, emotionally resonant stories • Mentor and coach writers, helping them elevate their craft and voice • Collaborate with brand strategy, content, and product teams to ensure a unified creative vision across every channel • Push the creative boundaries of what financial marketing can be — without losing clarity, humanity, or trust • Maintain a high standard of creative excellence across all written work, from conceptual campaigns to everyday content • Champion the role of writing and storytelling within the broader Edelman Financial Engines culture Skills • 10+ years of experience in brand storytelling and creative writing, ideally across both agency and in-house environments • 5+ years leading and mentoring creative teams • A portfolio that demonstrates conceptual excellence, clarity of thought, and range of tone across mediums • Proven ability to turn strategy into story and insight into language that moves people • Deep familiarity with modern content and campaign ecosystems — from brand film to digital and social • Curiosity for how creativity, technology, and human behavior intersect — and how language can move between them Benefits • Discretionary bonus • Health • Dental and other wellness plans • 401(k) contributions Company Overview • Edelman Financial Engines specializes in services concerning financial planning, retirement planning, personal finance and consulting.
