[Remote] Corporate Financial Controller

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller/Finance Director Consultant for a long-term contract role in a 100% Remote capacity. The role is critical for ensuring seamless financial operations, requiring expertise in financial reporting and statutory compliance, particularly within a Health Insurance organization. Responsibilities • Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting • Prepare and review financial statements to align with organizational and statutory requirements • Manage statutory reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations • Collaborate with teams to oversee expense reporting and budget management processes • Lead audits and provide necessary documentation to support audit activities • Serve as the primary point of contact for board reporting and deliver financial insights to stakeholders • Supervise and guide team members in financial operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals • Utilize ERP system to streamline financial processes and maintain accurate records • Support financial management initiatives and provide expert insights • Act as the go-to financial leader, ensuring stability and continuity during leadership transitions Skills • Proven experience as a Controller, with a strong track record in financial management. • MUST HAVE: Active or Inactive CPA License • MUST HAVE: Health Insurance (payor) Experience • Expertise in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation. • Familiarity with Tier 1 ERP and proficiency in financial systems. • Solid understanding of statutory reporting requirements and compliance. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and collaborate effectively. • Exceptional analytical abilities and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills to present financial information to stakeholders. • Prior Public Accounting (Big 4 preferred) • Previous experience in health plan financial operations is highly desirable Company Overview • At Robert Half, we prioritize your security—if you believe you've encountered a scam or fraudulent recruiter, please report it immediately to It was founded in 1948, and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
