They are seeking a Claims Specialist Level 1 to review, analyze, evaluate, and negotiate minor to moderate claims related to Accident Benefits, while managing the effective resolution of these claims.ResponsibilitiesReview, analyze, evaluate and negotiate Accident Benefits claimsInvestigate losses and assign independent adjusters and expertsInterpret coverage, evaluate claims, and manage reserves and paymentsCommunicate with insured’s, brokers, and legal representativesMeet expectations on turnaround times for claim handling and resolutionSupport training and mentorship of support staffSkillsCompletion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma is requiredWorking knowledge of the Statutory Accident Benefits ScheduleWorking understanding of benefit entitlement, loss transfer and WSIB issuesAbility to read and interpret policy wordings including OAP and OPCF endorsementsStrong computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Internet navigationEffective communication skills: verbal, non-verbal and writtenThorough attention to detail and ability to perform moderate mathematical calculationsWorking towards the CIP designationBenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits packageOpportunities for training and career developmentCommunity involvement and volunteering opportunitiesCorporate Wellness ProgramCompany OverviewThe Commonwell MIG offers a complete range of insurance products including residential, automobile, commercial, farm and watercraft.
