Job Description:
We’re seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to join a people-first, fully remote CPA firm with a tight-knit, collaborative team culture. If you love leading people, serving clients well, and shaping systems and processes — this is your chance to do meaningful work without the burnout.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of remote bookkeepers, reviewing work, providing feedback, and guiding professional growth
• Oversee high-level bookkeeping deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear reporting
• Train team members on best practices, technical skills, and client communication
• Support technology improvements and process development to help the firm grow sustainably
• Strengthen client relationships through high-touch service and proactive insights
• Collaborate with leadership on pricing, billing, and overall service strategy
• Contribute to firm strategy discussions and help shape a modern accounting practice
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Minimum 2 years managing a remote team in a multi-client environment
• Strong technical knowledge of bookkeeping workflows, multi-state payroll, compliance, and reporting
• Deep working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and review other bookkeepers’ work
• Comfortable with cloud-based tools and process improvements
• Bonus: Familiarity with Keeper, Canopy, Gusto, Loom, and an interest in using AI for efficiency
Experience:
• Must have experience coaching teams, managing workflows, and supporting multi-client operations
• History of building trust with clients and providing consultative guidance, not just transactional support
