[Remote] Backend Developer (w/ Banking) - Remote – EST hours

The role involves designing, building, and maintaining backend services, developing microservices and REST APIs, and integrating services with AWS while modernizing legacy components. Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot • Develop and evolve microservices and REST APIs • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries • Integrate services with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, etc.) • Modernize legacy backend components while ensuring system stability • Apply event-driven and cloud-native patterns to improve scalability and resilience • Support production systems, debugging issues and improving observability • Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews • Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment Skills • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot • Hands-on experience with AWS services • Solid understanding of backend architecture, microservices, and design patterns • Experience working with legacy systems and incremental modernization • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments • Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL • Ownership mindset and strong problem-solving skills • Financial Services or Wealth Management experience is a plus Benefits • Medical • Dental • Vision • 401(k) plan • Competitive compensation Company Overview • V-Soft Consulting, an innovative corporation specializing in Information Technology consulting; including staffing, digital, and infrastructure solutions.
