[Remote] Automation Electrical Design Engineer (Junior)

They are seeking a motivated Automation Electrical Design Engineer to support automation and manufacturing projects in the automotive industry, providing practical experience in electrical hardware design.ResponsibilitiesCreate electrical drawing packages for automated equipment and machinery using customer standards and internal templatesAssist in designing control systems using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematicsEnsure hardware designs are complete and accurate prior to release for manufacturing, helping reduce debugging during build and commissioning phasesProduce detailed design documentation including calculations, layouts, reports, and labeling packagesGenerate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) in accordance with customer specificationsLearn and apply automotive customer standards such as Volkswagen VASS, BMW TMO, and Mercedes-Benz IntegraSupport installation, integration, and commissioning activities during project implementationCommunicate effectively with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, and other team members to maintain project progressAssist commissioning engineers and electricians in understanding hardware designs and documentationUpdate electrical drawings to reflect as-built conditions and system modificationsSkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related electrical discipline (Tech degree with work experience will be considered)Basic understanding of electrical design standards and safety codesWorking knowledge of CAD softwareFamiliarity with TCP/IP and industrial PC networking fundamentalsMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)Willingness to travel approximately 20% to customer locations and job sitesProficiency in English both written and verbalQualified applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the futureExperience with EPLANExposure to the automotive manufacturing industryStrong communication and organizational skillsDetail-oriented with strong documentation practicesAbility to adapt to design changes and work in a collaborative team environmentExperience interpreting or drafting low-voltage power distribution and PLC control system designsUnderstanding of core electrical engineering principles related to automation systemsFamiliarity with automotive standards such as Volkswagen VASS, BMW TMO, or Mercedes-Benz IntegraCompany OverviewSiemens empowers customers to transform the industries that form the backbone of economies: industry, transportation, buildings and grids.
