Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Testing & Tutoring to lead our academic support services in a remote capacity. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the Testing and Tutoring Center, where you will ensure that students have access to essential resources that promote their academic success. Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Testing and Tutoring Center, fostering an organized and efficient environment.
• Develop, maintain, and oversee staffing schedules and the appointment scheduling system (Accudemia).
• Maintain up-to-date departmental manuals, policies, and procedures to ensure seamless operations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries from students, faculty, and staff regarding testing and tutoring services.
• Oversee inventory management for testing and tutoring supplies, submitting purchase requisitions as required.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, train, supervise, and assess tutors and part-time testing assistants, promoting their professional growth and effectiveness.
• Establish departmental goals and performance metrics to evaluate and enhance tutoring and testing services.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements through organized departmental report processing.
• Act as the institutional administrator for standardized tests, ensuring all necessary certifications and qualifications are met.
• Organize test preparation sessions and maintain test prep materials for standardized exams.
• Collaborate with faculty to facilitate placement testing and accommodations, ensuring adherence to test security protocols.
• Troubleshoot technology issues in coordination with IT and other departments to minimize disruptions.
• Administer the tutoring program, including recruitment and management of tutors, and participate in relevant training opportunities.
• Utilize Accudemia for tracking tutoring sessions and student progress while ensuring tutors have access to necessary resources.
• Promote academic support services within the college community and manage the loaner laptop program effectively.

Required Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
• Experience in supervising, training, and evaluating staff is preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, demonstrating both independence and teamwork.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required; a Master’s degree in education, student affairs, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in tutoring, teaching, or testing services, ideally in a higher education context.
• A valid driver's license or reliable transportation is required.
