Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director, Programs to join our dynamic Programs team. Under the leadership of the Director of Leadership Development Programs, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to strengthen, defend, and enhance democracy through impactful leadership development initiatives for young individuals aged 18 to 25. This remote position is ideal for an independent, entrepreneurial-minded individual who is passionate about community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the comprehensive life-cycle management of leadership development programs, from participant outreach and application through to program delivery and evaluation.
• Facilitate and moderate meetings and events, catering to both small and large groups (ranging from 4 to 100+ participants).
• Oversee program logistics, including managing application platforms and ensuring effective communication throughout the program life cycle.
• Collaborate with team members to design and enhance program curriculum, contributing innovative ideas for new programs and events.
• Collect and analyze program data to drive continuous improvement and ensure diverse perspectives are integrated into our learning objectives.
• Maintain accurate records on program activities, assist in planning documents, and manage CRM data related to program operations.
• Conduct outreach to cultivate strategic relationships with community constituents, including youth organizations and campus leaders.
• Supervise seasonal interns and program staff, ensuring effective collaboration and support.

Required Skills
• Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented, demonstrating a capacity for achieving key objectives.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes, with a preference for prior experience in budget oversight.
• Proven experience in project and program planning, with effective presentation and facilitation skills in both in-person and virtual settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proficient in using Microsoft and Google applications, CRM software (preferably Salesforce), and online collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, etc.).

Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with youth in educational, community-building, or leadership contexts.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and an ability to engage individuals from varied backgrounds.
• Experience in the non-partisan civic engagement space is highly valued.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
