[Remote] Architect/ Lead Node.js Developer | EU

They are seeking an Architect/Lead Node.js Developer to design and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support cloud initiatives.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, ensuring high performance and reliability
ā¢ Architecting and implementing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs as well as microservices-based solutions to support complex business requirements
ā¢ Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, improving system architecture, and promoting engineering best practices
ā¢ Optimizing database schemas and queries, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across relational and non-relational databases
ā¢ Supporting DevOps and cloud initiatives by working with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring smooth deployments and system observability
Skills
ā¢ 10+ years of experience as a Backend developer
ā¢ 4+ years of experience with Node.js
ā¢ 3+ years of experience with TypeScript
ā¢ Experience with architecting and implementing RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, or microservices to support various applications
ā¢ Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including monitoring/logging systems like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
ā¢ Experience in up-skilling engineering teams through practices such as pair programming and facilitating technical knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops
ā¢ Experience with database design and management using PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar
ā¢ Proficiency with AWS and containerization tools Docker and Kubernetes
ā¢ Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required
ā¢ Candidates must have an active VAT status in the EU VIES registry
ā¢ Experience in distributed systems design and implementation
ā¢ Knowledge of message brokers - Kafka
