[Remote] Apprenticeship Recruiter & Outreach Specialist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. WECA is seeking a dynamic Apprenticeship Outreach and Recruitment Specialist to lead outreach, recruitment, and intake efforts for their electrical apprenticeship programs. This role involves developing partnerships, promoting apprenticeship opportunities, and supporting applicants through the selection process to advance workforce development objectives.ResponsibilitiesRepresent WECA at job fairs, schools, orientations, community events, and industry meetingsDevelop and deliver presentations on apprenticeship careers, requirements, and pathwaysBuild and maintain partnerships with high schools, trade schools, community organizations, and workforce agenciesWork collaboratively with Marketing and internal teams on targeted recruitment strategiesCommunicate eligibility criteria, application steps, testing processes, and timelines to prospective applicantsCoordinate and administer the full intake process, including application review, qualification verification, testing, interviews, and orientationsMaintain accurate and confidential applicant recordsEnsure consistent and equitable application of entrance requirementsSupport and manage WECA’s Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) activitiesDevelop and maintain EEO/AA policies and documentationPrepare reports, track metrics, and respond to audits or compliance reviewsPartner with organizations supporting women, minorities, veterans, and other underrepresented groupsPlan, schedule, and coordinate recruitment events, job fairs, school visits, and outreach initiativesTrack and analyze event participation and recruitment outcomesEnsure activities align with program goals and compliance standardsCollaborate with internal staff and external partners to identify workforce needsServe as a liaison between applicants, staff, and partner organizationsRespond to applicant and contractor inquiries within 24 business hoursSkillsBachelor's degree in HR, Education, Workforce Development, Public Administration, or related field; or equivalent relevant experienceExperience in outreach, recruitment, workforce development, or apprenticeship programsUnderstanding of EEO/AA laws and complianceStrong public speaking and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently with accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office 365Ability to travel up to 75% across CA, AZ, UT and potentially other states in the future, including evenings/weekends as neededValid driver's license and insurable vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)Experience in registered apprenticeship, skilled trades, or contractor-based environmentsExperience supporting AA/EEO compliance reporting, audits, or policy developmentOutreach Programs: 1 yearRecruitment Programs: 1 yearWorkforce Development: 1 yearApprenticeship Programs: 1 yearBenefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceCompany OverviewWisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) is a state nonprofit organization with a mission to advance comprehensive and transformational support of the early childhood workforce in service of our vision of a just Wisconsin where early care and education is viewed and invested in as a public good.
