[Remote] Analytics Engineer

Astrana Health is seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Analytics Engineer I to work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and clinical leaders. The role focuses on producing deliverables for internal and external clients while enhancing data models and ensuring data quality for healthcare analytics.ResponsibilitiesUse best software engineering practices to implement quality measures, risk adjustment models, and other metrics for datasets originating from internal and external clientsDevelop high quality, maximally available data models which are intuitive to data analysts and trusted by stakeholdersMaintain and enhance/upgrade the existing Risk Adjustment score calculator for generating RAF scores for the Medicare Advantage populationAdept at building scalable data solutions and collaborating with downstream analysts to ensure clarity and usability of datasets related to Risk Adjustment, RAF scores, and HCC gap closureBuild scalable ELT pipelines and business intelligence dashboards as needed, embracing automation wherever possibleAcquire deep domain knowledge in healthcare operations and track regulatory developments related to analytical products you maintainApply data quality checks which proactively identify data issues and distributional shifts to ensure accuracy of downstream analytical productsWith guidance, take ownership of one or several reporting domains, interfacing business stakeholders to understand and deliver their requestsSkillsBachelor's degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, or related fieldExpertise in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL, specializing in Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment and Quality MetricsKnowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including documentation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsExperience in working with large datasetsExperience with cloud-computing platforms such as AzureExperience working in the healthcare industryFamiliarity with database management systems such as MongoDB or Microsoft SQL ServerStrong written and oral communication skillsMaster's degreeCompany OverviewLeading physician-centric, technology-powered, risk-bearing healthcare mgmt. company delivering high quality care in a cost-effective manner It was founded in 2001, and is headquartered in Alhambra, California, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
