Remote Admissions Coordinator (Behavioral Health / Substance Use Treatment)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Remote Admissions Coordinator specializing in Behavioral Health and Substance Use Treatment. Responsibilities
• Conduct initial intake assessments via phone or virtual platforms, gathering comprehensive patient information and treatment needs
• Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, and assist with insurance authorization processes
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) Kipu to document patient details accurately and efficiently
• Review medical documentation, care plans, and medical records for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Coordinate with clinical staff to schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and treatment plans while managing medical office management tasks
• Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, ensuring accurate CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and billing documentation
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering multi-line phone systems professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and clerical support skills
Qualifications
• Proven experience in medical administrative support within behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a related clinic environment
• Familiarity with Kipu
• Familitary of commercial insurance
• Our facility does not accept Medicaid
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures including insurance verification, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and documentation review
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and health information management standards
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic scheduling tools.
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
• Previous clinic or medical office experience involving intake procedures, front desk operations, or medical records management is advantageous
