Job Summary
The Release Manager 1 is responsible for participating in telecommunications discovery and implementation initiatives within defined timeframes, including VoIP discovery efforts, branch deployments, special voice services projects, and consolidations. This position gathers and defines business requirements and conducts solution design reviews. The Release Manager 1 also collaborates with Business Continuity and participates in the facilitation of IT Voice Services discovery efforts. This position is responsible for analysing and evaluating the telecommunications systems, networks, and data. This position will provide business analysis and recommendations; technical support for associated voice services applications; design, implementation, and consulting support for projects related to voice technology. The Release Manager 1 could also interface with operations personnel, external vendors and local telecom carriers.
ā¢ Organises assigned activities across telecommunications applications, teams, and projects; accountable for dependency management within the scope of assigned telecommunications release components.
ā¢ Collaborates with team members to ensure execution of release adheres to the plan and timeline.
ā¢ Maintains release documentation and archives; stays abreast of future IT telecommunications maintenance activities.
ā¢ Partners with team members to understand the release plan and assigned components.
ā¢ Practices adherence to the organisation's release and change management processes, policies, and procedures.
ā¢ Completes assigned projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines with minimal management involvement.
ā¢ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
ā¢ Collaborates with vendors and/or customers throughout the execution of tasks and activities.
ā¢ Collaborates with essential department team members to understand voice services operations and technologies.
ā¢ Tracks progress and reports to internal teams and external sponsors when needed.
ā¢ Shares and applies findings to related components.
ā¢ Conducts and participates in discovery efforts to uncover location voice services designs.
ā¢ Performs analytical, technical, and administrative support in the planning, designing, testing, and implementation of telecommunication projects.
ā¢ Monitors voice solution performance and troubleshoots any issues.
ā¢ Escalates maintenance issues, including repair and moves, adds, and changes.
ā¢ Supports technical voice projects.
ā¢ Analyses telecom usage and expenses to identify cost savings opportunities.
ā¢ Makes telecommunications-related recommendations to improve business functions and services.
ā¢ Resource Management
ā¢ Sources and coordinates assigned resources throughout various components of the release.
ā¢ Works with the internal team to recommend additional resource needs.
ā¢ Implements process improvement measures.
