About the Role:
The RN or LPN will play a key role in promoting student health and safety throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include medication administration, health screenings, emergency response, and care coordination for students with chronic conditions. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to help ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care and services in accordance with student IEPs, 504 Plans, or health plans
• Administer medications and manage acute and chronic health needs
• Maintain accurate health documentation and records per district and state requirements
• Communicate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to support student care
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding student health services
Qualifications:
• Valid New York State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
• Experience working in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• CPR and First Aid certification required
