Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Pre-Operative to join our team in Austin, Texas. As an RN Pre-Op, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the pre-operative process. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical histories, current health status, and surgical plans to identify potential risks and develop individualized care plans. Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring they have completed all necessary tests, medications, and consent forms. Communication: Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on pre-operative instructions, post-operative care, and recovery expectations. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, care plans, and medication lists. Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a focus on pre-operative care. Licensure: Current RN licensure in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and national and state certification as required. Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in a pre-operative setting or similar environment. Certifications: Additional certifications, such as Certified Perioperative Nurse (CPN) or Certified Operating Room Nurse (COR).
