Job Summary
We are looking for a highly qualified and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in our Medical Procedures Unit, you will provide nursing care to patients receiving Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Anesthesia Pain procedures, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Pain procedures. You will coordinate nursing care between the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases, and may direct other registered nurses, endoscopy technicians, and ancillary health care staff.
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate care to adult multi-specialty patients and adolescent GI patients
Coordinate nursing care between the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases
Administer sedation/analgesia under the direction of a physician
Assess and document hemodynamic status during sedation and post-procedure phases
Initiate and maintain peripheral intravenous lines
Provide patient and family-centered education and discharge teaching based on learning needs

Evening Shift Differential: $3.00/hour
Night Shift Differential: $4.00/hour
Day Shift Weekend Differential: $2.90/hour

Charge Nurse Differential: $1.00/hour

Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must:
Have current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) to practice nursing in Michigan
Have a minimum of two (2) years of RN experience (at full-time status) within the past five (5) years in any of the following specialties: ICU, ED, OR, Flight Nurse, or as a Sedation Analgesia Professional
Have current ACLS and PALS certification (or completion within the orientation period)
Be able to wear a lead apron for an extended period
Be able to stand for an extended period
Desired Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy or procedural nursing experience in an acute care setting
BSN
Clinical nursing certification in Gastroenterology, Pain, or Ambulatory Care nursing
Completion of the IV Conscious Sedation course
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent attendance and customer service skills
Work Schedule
This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week, with a schedule of 10-hour shifts, three days per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
