Description The Regional Director is responsible for overseeing regional activities to maximize sales, ensure delivery of a positive customer experience, and minimize costs. Provide motivation, direction, and coaching to District Sales Managers to achieve superb execution of Company programs and objectives with successful compliance. The Regional Sales Manager reports into the Territory Vice President and provides direct management and oversight to District Sales Manager team. Serve the Customer: •Ensure consistent and world class Customer experiences through proper implementation of our GUEST program in all stores and with all team members. •Know our Customer – know what’s important to her, what she’s ‘into’ now, and how can we best meet her desire to stay trendy and hip. Keep apprised of fashion trends. •Teach Store Managers target Customer concepts, product flows and adjacencies to ensure appropriate implementation of in-store presentations that excite and engage the Customer. Drive Sales •Achieve regional performance targets (e.g. Performance Plan Sales, ADS, UPTs, SPLH, Sales/SQ FT) •Ensure District Sales Managers have the ability to train Store Managers to implement In Store Presentation directives per Company policy and timelines, incorporating appropriate product flows and adjacencies based on individual store layout; follow up accordingly •Coach the District Sales Managers to enforce the execution of customer service programs and maintenance of Store Service Delivery Program to ensure an outstanding customer experience in each store •Utilize and analyze all business reports to identify ways to maximize region’s performance, develop and oversee the implementation of action plans to achieve regional targets Demonstrate Leadership •Consistently represent all Company directions and initiatives in all actions and communication •Develop District Sales Managers to assume responsibility of day to day district operations and to appropriately manage emergency situations •Communicate Company directives and expectations to District Sales Managers; assist District Sales Managers in the organization and prioritization of Company directives through effective project management; follow-up through performance management to ensure all deadlines are met Develop People •Recruit and hire all qualified District Sales Managers to elevate the performance of the region •Lead District Sales Managers in all Store Manager hiring decisions •Ensure District Sales Managers are meeting the training and development needs of each Store Management team •Provide performance management to District Sales Managers, (e.g. timely feedback, corrective action, performance appraisals); oversee the performance management of Store Managers •Develop District Sales Managers in all areas of the business through store visits, coaching and consistent feedback Manage the Business •Manage controllable expenses for region (e.g. payroll, supplies, etc.) •Identify inventory/merchandise opportunities through detailed analysis of key business reports and district/store visits; take appropriate action to meet the inventory needs of the region •Ensure implementation of loss prevention practices to safeguard region and Company investments while reaching region shrink targets •Analyze District Sales Managers’ schedules on a weekly basis to ensure they make the best use of visits to their stores in order to maximize region profitability •Identify business needs within region and schedule travel accordingly Qualifications •Minimum of 5 years of multi-store management at a senior level, or equivalent experience •Ability to lead/supervise and motivate associates at both store and district management levels •Ability to communicate effectively through both written and verbal formats •Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills •Ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem solve •Ability to stand during scheduled shifts •Ability to maneuver up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally •Bending, stooping, extended reaching, climbing ladders and step stools while placing merchandise throughout the store and assisting customers •Ability to operate POS system •Extensive travel required Summary Claire’s is committed to adhering to all applicable company policies and federal, provincial and local laws and regulations.
