As we embark on our mission to become the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents, Chewy Vet Care, PLLC is seeking to offer an Associate Regional Medical Director the opportunity to assist in building, organizing, and ensuring a smooth functioning of a national veterinary medical practice system. What You'll Do:

Assist the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Regional Medical Director (RMD) in identifying regional hospital medical needs, creating, maintaining, and updating standards of patient care, standard operating procedures, and the development of the Chewy in-practice Chewy customer and pet- first culture.
Collaborate with field directors and operations to ensure proper staffing ratios in hospitals.
Assist in the recruitment and hiring of associate and lead veterinarians.
Continual monitoring of individual veterinarian medical performance through regular 1:1 review of medical cases, medical records, and discussion of performance metrics related to the individual veterinarian, including P&L performance.
Continue to refine training methods and lead recurrent training classes in teaching hospitals and workshops.
Work with L&D to provide feedback on the medical knowledge, skillset, and needed CE content for veterinarians and paraprofessional staff.
Be a medical and cultural leader for those working in the hospitals in your assigned region.
Weekly travel to hospitals within your region to develop rapport, monitor hospital operations, and ensure adherence to the Standard of Care.
Interact with and engage in the fostering of interpersonal professional relationships with Lead DVMs to serve as their direct source of help and support.
To ascertain a litmus of the medical team and provide feedback to medical leadership.
Mentor lead doctors regarding the improvement of individual and hospital performance with respect to client satisfaction, teamwork, medical quality, and efficiency.
Mentor associate doctors regarding the improvement of medical skills and knowledge, bedside manners, and development of leadership qualities.
Create tangible performance goals and growth targets for associate and lead doctors
Be responsible, along with field ops, for understanding and reporting on financial and other key operational metrics.
Be able to identify operational, medical, performance, and financial deficiencies and work with medical and operational leaders to create a management plan to correct noted gaps
