About the Role:
The Reading Specialist will play a key role in supporting student literacy development by providing targeted reading instruction and interventions. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to help ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment that fosters academic growth.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct reading instruction and interventions to students based on assessment data and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring records for students receiving services
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective literacy strategies
• Support student academic progress, engagement, and confidence in reading skills
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations related to literacy programs and student support
Qualifications:
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification with Reading Specialist endorsement or related credential
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, or a relevant field
• Experience working in schools providing literacy instruction or intervention, preferably with children/adolescents
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
