• R&D Chemist (Metal Finishing & Industrial Lubricants)
We’re hiring: R&D Chemist / Formulation Specialist – Metal Finishing & Industrial Lubricants (FYP) FYP (Farayand Yektapajooh) develops industrial process chemicals for metal industries. We’re looking for a hands-on formulator who can upgrade formulations, troubleshoot production/customer issues, and help us scale reliable products. What you’ll work on • Metal cleaning / degreasing (spray & dip): alkaline cleaners, surfactant systems, builders/chelants, inhibitors, foam control • Phosphating systems: zinc phosphate process chemistry, activation, bath control, sludge management, coating weight targets • Industrial lubricants (at least one area): wire drawing lubricants (powders/soaps/emulsions), rolling oils, textile lubricants/processing aids Responsibilities • Improve existing formulations for performance, stability, cost, and local raw-material availability • Design lab trials and pilot runs; define specs and QC tests (titrations, pH, TA/FA where relevant, solids, stability, etc.) • Support customers: process troubleshooting, dosing guidance, line audits (spray/dip lines), corrective actions • Create/upgrade technical docs: TDS, application guidelines, and internal formulation records • Work with production to scale up safely and consistently Requirements (must-have) • Strong formulation background in metal cleaning and/or phosphating and/or industrial lubricants • Practical lab experience (bench work, troubleshooting, stability testing) • Ability to translate problems from the factory floor into a clear formulation/process fix • Good technical documentation habits Nice to have • Experience with OEM automotive metal finishing lines • Familiarity with local/regional raw material sourcing and substitutions • Experience with wire drawing powders/soaps or textile lubricants Work model Flexible: full-time or contract/project-based.
