We are currently seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analytics Specialist to join our Corporate Risk team in Charlotte, NC, with the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days a week. About Our Company and the Role At Wells Fargo, our Corporate Risk team plays a vital role in identifying and managing risk across various business areas. As a Quantitative Analytics Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and maintaining complex quantitative models that provide valuable insights into a wide range of products, companies, and risk mitigation initiatives. This role requires advanced mathematical and programming skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues, peers, managers, and regulators to solve problems and achieve goals. Key Responsibilities Perform highly complex activities related to the design, development, validation, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of quantitative models. Utilize advanced mathematical and programming skills to create and validate analytical models using languages such as Python, R, SAS, C++, and SQL. Develop, implement, and calibrate various analytical models to support business initiatives and risk management processes. Create basic statistics and mathematical models to provide insights across various business areas. Provide solutions to business needs and analyze workflow processes to make recommendations for improving the risk management process. Collaborate with colleagues, peers, managers, and regulators to solve problems and achieve goals. Document and present detailed results and findings of model development and validation. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Ph.D. in Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. One (1) year of experience in a quantitative analytical role, which can be gained in parallel with university education. Proficiency in programming languages used for statistical analysis and data programming, including SAS, R, C++, Python, SQL, and MATLAB. Experience with analytics software such as Hadoop and NoSQL. Knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems. Preferred Qualifications and Skills In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with: Experience with predictive modeling using statistical and machine learning techniques. Knowledge of stochastic modeling, optimization, simulation, computational statistics, and machine learning. Experience with the development and validation of statistical models. Strong understanding of best modeling techniques and methods in data processing, sampling, model design/specification, model performance evaluation, and test evaluation.
