About the role We are building explainable, audit-friendly quantitative research products that transform complex time-series behavior into standardized, reusable research outputs. This role is not about trading, not about model fitting, and not about black-box AI. It is about internalizing a mathematical research philosophy and helping convert it into repeatable, productized systems that can scale across assets, markets, and clients. You will work closely with the founder on extending existing products (Slipstream & ESER) and designing new explainable quantitative products from first principles. Products: ⸻ What you will do • Internalize how our explainable quantitative systems are designed • Help convert research ideas into standardized, reusable product modules • Design new products that output: • Interpretable statistical structures • Validated summaries of time-series behavior • Reusable research tensors suitable for institutional use • Think in terms of: • What survives audit and scrutiny • What is explainable end-to-end • What can be reused instead of re-researched This is closer to engineering a mathematical instrument than running experiments. ⸻ What we are looking for • Strong foundation in applied mathematics, statistics, signal processing, physics, or related fields • Ability to reason clearly about why something works, not just whether it works • Comfort with abstraction, structure, and long-horizon product thinking • Intellectual honesty and independence • Interest in building systems that prioritize clarity and explainability You do NOT need: • Prior finance or trading experience • Machine learning or deep learning background • High-frequency or short-term optimization experience ⸻ Work style & expectations • This is not a 9-to-5 execution role • Work is research-driven and asynchronous • Output quality matters more than hours logged • Suitable for candidates who may be: • Early-career researchers • Pursuing or planning higher studies • Interested in shaping foundational products rather than daily operations ⸻ Compensation • Equity-only at this stage • Cash compensation will begin after: • A fundraise or • Defined revenue milestones • Equity is formal, documented, and milestone-linked Please apply only if you are comfortable with an equity-first role at an early stage. ⸻ Important note If your primary interest is short-term trading, model optimization, or black-box AI, this role will not be a good fit. ⸻ How to apply Send: • A short note explaining why this role interests you • Your background (CV or LinkedIn is fine) Apply tot his job
