Quality Engineer EMEA / APAC / South America (Remote)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated full-time remote Quality Engineer to join our K8s Operators Team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be an integral part of ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. In this role, you will be part of a distributed engineering team, maintaining and improving the quality of our software products as part of the release process and in an ongoing fashion. This includes tasks such as analyzing and reporting defects captured by our automated testing frameworks, defining and implementing new test cases, and improving and scaling our testing capabilities and infrastructure.What You Will Do:Building quality into the product in the first place for the Kubernetes Operators for relational and NoSQL databases. Focus on preventing wrong design in the early stages and on automatic testing in CI/CD at a late stageEvaluate and improve Percona Operator products and new features based on test plans, discovering product issues & bugsContribute to the DevOps and release management lifecycle, which includes coordinating, testing, and managing Operator releasesCollaborate with engineers and teams across the company to help deploy and debug Kubernetes Operators to facilitate rapid integration and massive growthResearch and recommend tools, behaviors, and strategies for improving test and release processesActively participate in architecture/design collaboration and prevent Developers from faulty architecture decisions before code is writtenWhat You Have Done:Familiarity with Kubernetes and experience in testing applications within containerized environmentsSolid understanding of database systems, architecture, and performance, especially in a cloud or Kubernetes contextExperience in designing and implementing automated test scripts for databases, preferably with knowledge of Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDBExperience and proficiency in LinuxCapability to build and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, preferably using JenkinsProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with programming languages for test automationExperience with version control systems like GitExperience working in an Agile environment, using a test management tool for defect tracking and test managementWhat Will Make You Stand Out:Interest and contributions to the open-source communityPassion for the evolving landscape of database technologiesA track record of bringing innovative ideas to the table, contributing to the improvement of testing strategies, automation processes, and overall product qualityDemonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, staying in touch with the latest trends in quality engineering, cloud, open source, databases, and related technologiesExperience with Helm charts for Kubernetes deployment and OpenShift OLM for application lifecycle managementExperienced in GoWhere You Will Work:This remote work-from-home position can be located anywhere worldwide.
