QA Lead for Ongoing Web Application
• * DESCRIPTION **
We’re looking for an experienced QA professional to support ongoing development of a large, multi-user web application used by school districts. This is not a one-time testing project. We need someone who can serve as a consistent quality gate between our development team and client releases.
You’ll work closely with our Project Manager and developers to verify bug fixes, test new features, and ensure releases are stable before and after they reach users. We are specifically looking for someone who thinks in terms of full-system impact, not just individual tickets.
This is a long-term, part-time contract role with steady work as the platform continues to grow.
• * RESPONSIBILITIES **
– Test bug fixes and new features in staging and production environments to confirm they work as intended
– Perform thorough regression testing to ensure new changes do not introduce issues in existing features (this is a critical need for us)
– Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, expected vs actual results
– Validate releases before client visibility whenever possible
– Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by confirming readiness
– Maintain test checklists and document edge cases discovered during testing
– Communicate testing results clearly and proactively to the PM and dev team
• * IMPORTANT CONTEXT **
We’ve experienced situations where a fix or new feature works in isolation but unintentionally affects other parts of the system. We’re looking for a QA professional who naturally tests across workflows and interconnected features to ensure changes don’t create downstream issues.
MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE
– 5+ years testing modern web applications
– Strong experience with manual QA and exploratory testing
– Proven experience with regression testing on evolving products
– Ability to write detailed, developer-friendly bug reports
– Experience testing across browsers and devices
– Comfortable working with staging and production release cycles
– Excellent written communication
– Fluent in English language
